Skating Record: 1998 Goodwill Games

Location: Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York

Date: July 29-31

Review:

Tiffany and Johnnie skated very well for their first major senior international competition. In the short program, their unison was very good. S&S completed side-by-side double axels as well as a clean double twist. However, their speed was not great and the death spiral was not low enough to the ice, which is why they did not receive high marks.

All of the pairs skated a bit sloppily in the long program. Tiffany and Johnnie were not perfect, but managed to wow the New York crowd. The triple split twist was not as polished as they would like it to be, but it's a new element for them. They landed side-by-side double axels and double flips (Johnnie Singled the flip). Tiffany stepped out of the throw triple loop, but managed a nice throw triple salchow. Overall, this competition was a good learning experience for Tiffany and Johnnie. They need a little bit more time to mature, but in a few years, watch out Russians! (kidding)
